Just More Examples

Yeah, it’s another song I heard today that reminded me of being a new quitter. I knew how to do this and a bunch of internet guys surely cannot help me because I know myself more than they do. Sound familiar? I am sure most of us were this way when we started and looking back I know how little I knew about what was coming. So tonight I bring you the song “Still Counting” by Volbeat. I have to use already written songs because I don’t have near the creativity our buddy hipster does. So let me lay some lyrics on you, I am sure you will see what I am talking about.

I know I am not the only moron who thought dipping and nicotine was cool, so yes we are all assholes for starting it in the first place.  The hardest thing to admit is those 3 descriptors: liar, cheater, fool.  We lied about dip all the time to everyone.  We cheated our family and friends out of our time for a dumb little can.  So new quitter, know you are not Mr. Perfect, you can learn from many here and you are definitely not alone.

Look deep into yourself before you blame all others

You can’t quit until you look at yourself and admit your an addict.  It isn’t anyone else’s fault, no one made you do it.  Until we can admit this, we will keep failing.  Sounds like the message new quitters get in chat doesn’t it?  You will keep failing until you quit the way that has worked for all of us.

For all the cavers and people who have it all figured out, people can see it.  Anything you tell yourself about it being ok to go back or have just one, it’s a lie and you shouldn’t take comfort in it.  And yes, everytime you lie you get the rage of quitters.  Do you know why?  They give a damn and want to help you or they would not be checking on you and getting pissed off.  Take the help they offer.

Some times no matter how much you tell them, there is always someone who has a better way.  There are many that have learned to walk away from these people, mainly because they don’t want help.  I had to learn, you cannot help an addict who doesn’t want to quit.  All of this is hard to see for new quitters, but I thank the guys with way more quit than I have that helped me realize that point.
